The temple hosts various cultural activities throughout the year, particularly in the months of Jeth, Bhado, and Kartika. These months feature cultural celebrations like Ojapali songs and dance, Nagara Naam, and Ayoti Naam. During Kartika, the temple holds a day-night ritual with a cultural procession, where hundreds of earthen lamps are lit, illuminating the night and showcasing the community’s deep devotion.

This sacred place serves as the center for conducting various Hindu rituals and spiritual activities, including Bhagawat Path, Nam, Ojapali, Ayoti Nam, Nagara Nam, and observances of festivals such as Diwali, Lakshmi Puja, and Janmashtami. These activities are vital for preserving our cultural and religious heritage.

Urgent Restoration Needed Despite its historical importance, Bathou Temple’s infrastructure is deteriorating. The main prayer hall, Kirtanghar, has been damaged by natural forces and requires urgent reconstruction. The Bodo community has been collecting funds from each family to begin this restoration but needs more resources to complete the work. The restoration includes rebuilding the Garvgreeha (sanctum sanctorum) and repairing the temple’s structure.
Uttar Pradesh
The villagers, in their devotion, installed stone idols to continue the worship, but the temple's glory seems to have faded. Today, the entire temple structure, including the dome, is on the verge of collapsing. The local community consists of only 27 households, who, despite their best efforts, cannot afford the extensive repairs needed.
West Bengal
Maa Bhagwati is worshipped here in her self-manifested form. The sacred site has a deep spiritual significance for the local community and beyond, attracting devotees who come to seek her blessings.

Lord Siva is revered here by the people of the greater area. The main festivals at this temple are Shivratri and the Bol Bom festival in the month of Sravana, drawing thousands of devotees. Despite the lack of sufficient infrastructure, many people come to this Dewalaya daily for worship.

The original Manikut and Namghar built from public donations many years ago have now severely deteriorated. With the growing number of devotees, it is intended to reconstruct the main Manikut and Namghar grandly, similar to other prominent shrines in Assam.

Long ago, a radiant, celibate Brahmin named Mukti lived in Gaya, who performed severe penance in this temple to be freed from his sins.
