About the Project
Pitru Paksha is one of the most sacred times in the Hindu calendar, a period when we remember and honor our ancestors. It is believed that during these 15 days, our ancestors visit us in the form of sadhus, accepting our offerings of food and water. This year, from September 17th to October 2nd, you have the opportunity to pay tribute to your ancestors by joining hands with the *Shiv Dhaam Foundation* in a noble cause.
Join Us in Feeding 200-250 Sadhus Daily in Gaya
Gaya, Bihar, is a significant site during Pitru Paksha, drawing approximately 10 lakh pilgrims, including countless sadhus and ascetics who gather here for prayers and devotion. Many of these holy men, particularly the elderly, rely solely on the kindness of strangers for their sustenance.
This Pitru Paksha, the Shiv Dhaam Foundation is committed to serving daily meals to 200-250 sadhus in Gaya. By contributing to this initiative, you can receive the blessings of your ancestors, who are said to visit us in the form of these spiritual seekers.
Why This Seva is Important
For sadhus, the world is their family, and by serving them, you are not only fulfilling a charitable duty but also earning the blessings of your ancestors. It is believed that during Pitru Paksha, our ancestors come to us as sadhus to give their blessings. By ensuring these holy men do not go hungry, you are honoring your loved ones who have passed on.
