About the Project
Hariyali Amavasya, observed during the monsoon month of Shravan, is a day for Gauseva (serving cows) as it's considered highly auspicious. Performing Gauseva on this day is believed to bring blessings, especially from Lord Vishnu. It's a time to express gratitude towards nature and to seek blessings for prosperity and well-being by connecting with nature and performing charitable acts.
Swami Rameshanand Saraswati Ji’s Nandi Seva Yatra
🐂 A 200-Year-Old Tradition of Serving Nandimaharaj and Gaumata in Ramnagar, Kashi
🔱 A Legacy of Seva, Not for Fame But for Faith
Swami Rameshanand Saraswati Ji, a humble saint from Ramnagar, Varanasi, has devoted his entire life to the selfless service of Nandimaharaj and Gaumata.
This sacred tradition of seva was passed down to him by his Guru, Mahasant Shri Veetragaanand Ji Maharaj, who began this dharmic work over 200 years ago.
In this Nandishala, nestled along the banks of Ganga, the worship isn’t through rituals but through action feeding, healing, and protecting these sacred beings, every single day.
🕉 Why Nandimaharaj? Why Now?
In Sanatan Dharma, Nandimaharaj is not just a bull, but Shiva’s gatekeeper, his most devoted sevak.
He represents strength, dhairya (patience), and unwavering bhakti.Yet today, while Gaumata is worshipped, her calves the future Nandis are often ignored, neglected, or abandoned. This campaign seeks to restore that balance.
